How can i get my ex-wife more involved in her kids?

I have two children that live with me, and there mother is rarely there. Her BF is way more important. Shes is the type of person who belives parenting is a job,but in reallity its actually a privilage. Ive tried DHS and they seem to be against me because im a guy. Any suggestions on how to open her eyes of the wonderful kids she is missing out on?
