Disinfect a preowned reptile cage?

I just got a custom build reptile enclosure free off craigslist (god i love that place) and it is bigger for my Chinese Water dragon (currently in a 29 gal. aquarium) and i believe it will make life easier for it to old humidity, but anyways this custom cage is made out of Ply Wood (bottom and parts of the side painted Green) Gl 2x4 Gl Screen and he rigged up a door out of an old screen topper, it does need some TLC to be fully fir for my CWD, but first and foremost i want to disinfect it from the Iguana that was in it before, there was a lot of poop on the cage floor the heat rock (which is kind of attached but i dont plan on using it heard it would bake my CWD) and i prefer to use a method that is kind of quick, he is nose rubbing despite my best efforts to stop him i even put some of the aquarium back ground on the inside, also what will be the best substrate right now i have astroturf but with this i want to use dire or something like that for him, was thinking dirt topped with bark chips. once again yahoo readers i turn to you. thank you. (it is too big to fit in an over its like 4ft long 2 wide and maybe 3 tall
